Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara

This morning you will be picked from the airport and drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino.

Lunch at Sarova Mara Game Camp and relax before departing for the afternoon game run. The Mara Game Reserve – one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied, and easy to see. Residents among the Park are: Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousands of plain game including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson’s and grants Gazelles.

Day 2: Discover Masai Mara

An hour floating over the Savannah starts at sunrise, wake up early and embark on a balloon safari over the vast plains of the Maasai Mara National Game Reserve. The dawn scenery from the balloon is breathtaking as you float above the diverse habitats of Masai Mara reserve covering the mighty river ‘The Mara River’, swamps and forests.

Day 3: Discover Masai Mara Game Reserve

Depart on an early morning gamedrive in search of great predators and perhaps even cubs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During your stay you also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people (at an extra cost) to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.
After your evening game drive you will be treated to a one hour bush sundowner and dinner.

Day 4: Maasai Mara –  Nairobi

Early morning tea/coffee or hot chocolate then depart for a morning game drive. Breakfast will be served at the camp, depart by road to Nairobi. On arrival enjoy lunch at Villa Rosa Kempinski. Thereafter check in to the hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5: Nairobi – Samburu

This morning after breakfast, you will depart travel by road to Kenya’s northern frontier. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Ewaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and Beisa Oryxes.

Day 6: Discover Samburu National Reserve

Dawn breaks in golden bands as you start your day in the bush by scanning the river from as you enjoy your special riverside breakfast. Before the dew is off the grass, we’re off in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserve’s grasslands and acacia woodlands. And so the day is spent in alternating pursuits of exploration in the bush and relaxation in our cozy lodge.

Day 7: Depart

After breakfast drive back to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch at a local restaurant (payments direct). Thereafter you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight home.
